Who is Coach Liz and What is Coaching?

Since you wondered, I’ll share.

I won’t bore you with the institutions I’ve attended, who I’ve worked with or positions I’ve held. Yes, I have the educational degrees and certifications that allow me to be a card carrying member of the Licensed Certified Social Worker and Certified Life Coach clubs. However, the value I offer is more a result of the life I live. My experiences are the benefit I bring to you. Moments that matter reach far beyond career statistics and paint a clearer picture of how I can best serve you. I thrive on accepting personal challenges, not for glory but for the pursuit of personal excellence.

Moments that matter:

  • Went rope repelling off a 34-foot (10 m) tower for the first time at age 53.
  • Married my best friend at age 48 after dating only 3 months (not recommended for everyone). Yes, we’re still ecstatically married 8 years later!
  • Lost 80 pounds and began weighlifting in my 50’s.
  • Coauthored a fitness workbook with my personal trainer.
  • Help women, men and kids create confidence.
  • Coach people from hopeless to happiness.
  • Masterful at listening to understand vs. listening to respond.
  • Save marriages from divorce (a.k.a. better sex)
  • Learned to play basketball at age 53 and routinely play full court.
  • Started my coaching business two days after 9/11.
  • Am a student of learning to live in the present moment.
  • Lived in 5 different states, traveled through 45 (so far!).
  • Play clarinet and piano. Taking up the alto sax!
  • Took gymnastics in college because I was completely un-athletic, could never do a cartwheel and wanted to challenge myself. I passed with an A.
  • Spent New Year’s Eve in London, England with my daughter in 2000.
  • Recycle everything I can, all the time.
  • Had a cross and angel tattooed on my back after my nephew was killed by a drunk driver.

As you can tell, I am transparent and within the boundaries of a client/coach relationship I’ll answer any question you have.

Coaching is a partnership between you and me. First we clarify your vision then I hold your vision until you can. In a thought-provoking and creative process you become inspired to maximize your personal and professional potential. I honor you as the expert in your life and believe you are creative, resourceful and whole. I ask questions and offer opportunities that will challenge you to discover answers that reflect your values, preferences and unique perspectives. Based on this foundation, my commitment is to:

  • Discover, clarify, and align with what you want to achieve
  • Elicit your intuitive solutions and strategies
  • Hold you responsible and accountable while you dramatically improve your outlook and outcomes

Now that you know more about me, and have a clearer understanding of coaching, tell me how I can help you.

WOW ELIZABETH -I was on the World Vision web site trying to send a Christmas gift to the 2 children I sponsor and up came your web site. I was VERY IMPRESSED to say the very least!
how that happened is just another of my often God connections.
Very professional and well constructed – really should give people incite into what rich experiences you have had to draw on.

my son is turning 50. His has issues with several health issues, he has been married 3x, has a 22 year old son from a short casual relationship in college and currently is struggling in current marriage. I want to give him a gift of holistic approach to health and relationships. I am a Christian and do not want to encourage a coach who would anyway encourage him away from that. I am 70 and very healthy taking no meds. I am basically vegeterian leaning toward vegan. can you help with this?
